Jenni Rivera's DL from Plane Crash
Jenni Rivera, the renowned Mexican-American singer and television star, tragically died in a plane crash on December 9, 2012, near Monterrey, Mexico, after a performance. She was 43. Rivera, born Dolores Janney Rivera Saavedra in Long Beach, California, rose to fame with her powerful voice and songs that resonated deeply with the lives of many in the Latino community. The Learjet 25 carrying Rivera and six others, including her publicist, lawyer, and makeup artists, lost contact with air traffic control shortly after taking off from Monterrey. The wreckage was found in the municipality of Iturbide, Nuevo Leon, with no survivors. The cause of the crash was later determined to be a combination of factors including the age of the aircraft, poor maintenance, and a possible mistake by the pilot or co-pilot. Rivera, known as the "Diva de la Banda," was celebrated for her contributions to the regional Mexican music genre, particularly banda, norteño, and mariachi. She had sold over 15 million albums worldwide and was a figure of empowerment for many women. |
