Jack the Ripper Crime Scene Photos
Between August and November 1888, Jack the Ripper is believed to have murdered at least five women, all prostitutes, in gruesome fashion. The victims, Mary Ann Nichols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes, and Mary Jane Kelly, were killed and mutilated in a manner indicating that the perpetrator had a knowledge of human anatomy. The brutality and surgical precision of the murders suggested a single killer. The Ripper case was notable for the ferocity of the murders and the fact that they occurred in a highly populated urban area. The killer's ability to evade capture, despite the considerable efforts of the police, added to his infamy. The case also highlighted issues of poverty, crime, and the treatment of women in Victorian society. The investigation was marked by numerous challenges, including the lack of forensic technology that modern investigations rely on. The police relied on methods such as door-to-door inquiries and examining rudimentary evidence. Despite various suspects being proposed over the years, including but not limited to, a Polish barber, a physician, a royal family member, and even a woman, the true identity of Jack the Ripper has never been conclusively established.  ·  ·  ·  ·

it is a good movie. I don't know if what happened in the movie could have really happened, maybe just cause its a movie, it seemed very convincing. |

It would be bizarre if that really did happen, although i think it was made like cos of hollywood etc. I think if Mary Kelly (5th victim) did survive somebody may of come forward by now claiming there relation. i love the whole JtR thing though its so interesting.  oh n also i dont think Abberline was anywhere near as hot as Johnny Depp  |

There was something in the news a couple weeks ago about a theory that the killer was a female. They're trying to take DNA samples off of the letters.
