The Head and Fingers Killer: The Murder of Kim Barry.
The gruesome murder of Kim Barry, a young nursing student, in Wollongong, New South Wales, in the 1980s, took a particularly macabre turn when it was discovered that her head and fingers had been removed. This chilling detail led to the media dubbing the perpetrator as the "Head and Fingers Killer." Kim Barry was last seen alive on the night of August 9, 1981, at a local nightclub in Wollongong. Her disappearance triggered an extensive and high-profile police investigation. Tragically, her dismembered body was later found at the Jamberoo Mountain Lookout, an area in the Illawarra region, causing widespread shock and horror across the community. The removal of her head and fingers was a sinister aspect of the crime, severely complicating efforts to identify her remains and symbolizing the brutality of the murder. The investigation eventually led to the arrest and conviction of a local doctor, Graham Stafford. He was found guilty of her murder in 1983 and sentenced to life imprisonment. However, the case took a significant turn when Stafford's conviction was quashed in 1991 by the New South Wales Court of Criminal Appeal. The court found flaws in the forensic evidence and concerns about the reliability of witness testimonies. Stafford, who had always maintained his innocence, was released after nearly ten years in prison. The acquittal of Graham Stafford left many questions unanswered, and the identity of the "Head and Fingers Killer" remains unknown. You can see pictures from the crime scene below. |

Re: The Head and Fingers Killer: The Murder of Kim Barry.
The average-looking Potter has been described as a master of disguise and despite regular nationwide pleas from police has managed to evade capture since skipping bail in 2010. There have been reported sightings of the now 60-year-old in several Australian states including rural New South Wales. Unconfirmed sightings were made of Potter in Griffith in the state's Riverina district in July 2016, one in a shop and another in a gym. |

the old adage: "once a murderer..." someone murders in that manner, should never see daylight again; unless they're forcibly bent over in the prison yard. |
