Death Pictures From The Haiti Earthquake in 2010
On January 12, 2010, Haiti was struck by a catastrophic magnitude 7.0 earthquake, with an epicenter near the town of Léogâne, approximately 25 kilometers (16 miles) west of the country's capital, Port-au-Prince. This devastating natural disaster resulted in significant loss of life and widespread destruction, marking one of the worst earthquakes in the region's history. The earthquake caused major damage to Port-au-Prince, Léogâne, and other surrounding areas, leading to an estimated death toll ranging from 100,000 to over 300,000 people. Additionally, hundreds of thousands were injured, and millions were left homeless, making it one of the deadliest natural disasters in recent times. The impact of the earthquake was particularly severe due to the weak infrastructure of buildings and homes, many of which were not constructed to withstand seismic activity. The Presidential Palace, the National Assembly building, the Port-au-Prince Cathedral, and the main jail were among the structures that sustained significant damage or were completely destroyed. The international response to the Haiti earthquake was substantial, with countries and organizations from around the world sending aid, rescue teams, and medical assistance. However, the scale of the disaster and the country's limited infrastructure posed significant challenges to relief efforts, including logistics, medical care, and shelter. |

I always try to remember that this kind of disaster could happen that directly effects my loved ones next time around. But Haiti nor is anyone else a shithole for the record. I can only pray that if there is a disaster that Trump will handle it way better than he did Puerto Rico. |

I don't think Haiti looked much better before the earthquake.

Re: Death Pictures From The Haiti Earthquake in 2010
In 2018, 80% of Haitians live in cities. 1/3 don't have access to running water and 2/3 don't have access to sanitary services. So it IS a shithole, earthquake or not. They keep relying on foreign aid because they are too lazy to do anything. |
