Actually, a few years after the Challenger disaster, it became public knowledge that the passenger compartment of the spacecraft was intact after the explosion. In fact, the news even showed what some experts believed to be the compartment dropping into the Atlantic, along with other fragments.

One of the three men killed in this was from Jackson Michigan. On the campus of Jackson community college they have a memorial to him. people like these three and those killed in the Challanger disaster paid in full with their lifes for the technology we have today. The space program was the major driving force behind developing what became the electronics industry. |
