There's a sequel to the "In Broad Daylight" book. Trena ended up turning her life around, remarried, and led a pretty normal life until she died of cancer. Both Bowenkamps have died also. To this day, the people in Skidmore keep quiet about what they know. I was always surprised they didn't kill McElroy sooner.
