Re: The Death of Ken McElroy: The Town Bully of Skidmore, Missouri
Speaking of, the book "In Broad Daylight" about this incident was made into a TV movie in 1991 with Brian Dennehy with the same name...and I remember it was REAL good: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102106/...nm_flmg_act_88 |

Can't believe I just now found out about this. You know you're doing bad when the cops sit in on the meeting about killing you and then leave town when they find out you're at the bar

The once popular A&E series City Confidential did a show about this. "Skidmore: Frontier Justice" aired on November 16th, 1999 and is one of the very hard to find episodes out there. This was a great show and I was sorry to see it get cancelled.

My uncle owned a bar just across the MO/IA boarder in Blockton, IA where McElroy used to drink. My uncle liked him fine. My uncle was a huge fucking asshole.

Re: The Death of Ken McElroy: The Town Bully of Skidmore, Missouri
Sounds like it was either do something permanent to rid him from their lives or continue to worry about what he might do next to them. It's a shame Trena filed that wrongful death lawsuit. Seems like she should have been grateful and moved on with her life entirely. Glad she didn't get her $6 million.
