Re: The Death of Colleen Slemmer: A Case of Teenage Murder
I saw this case on the tv network investigation discovery. Christa was totally nuts and was a drug user thanks to her mother. All these kids were in a program together to make them productive members of society. I don't think their mental health issues were treated at all, this case seems to prove that.

Re: The Death of Colleen Slemmer: A Case of Teenage Murder
I know it's a Wiccan symbol originally but it somehow became "Satanic", just like the swastika became "inappropriate" for obvious reasons, even though it existed WAY before the nazis redadapted it.

Re: The Death of Colleen Slemmer: A Case of Teenage Murder
Actually you are both semi correct. A pentagram is not actually satanic although Satanist laid claim to it after turning it upside down. The same way they took the cross and turned it upside down and claimed it. Although even the inverted pentagram does have positive meaning for a lot of people. Not the least of which is the order of the Eastern Star which is an appendant organization of Freemasonry. Concerning this case I am from Knoxville originally and was there when this happened. I was a student at that job Corps Center three years previous to this case. I remember how fucked up it was and it really got everyone's attention around there. The intention by the girl who did this was that it was a satanic pentagram. Keep in mind this was before the Internet got popular and pentagrams could only mean Satanism to 99.9% of people back then. ESPECIALLY in east TN, the Bible Belt. So it was very rarely used as a pagan symbol then, Paganism is only experiencing a rise now due to the Internet and shows that have popularized Wicca and paganism since then. |
