Dean Corll Crime Scene & Death Pictures
Corll's crime spree was revealed in 1973 when Henley fatally shot Corll. Henley then contacted the police, confessing to his involvement and revealing the extent of their crimes. The subsequent investigation led to the unearthing of multiple bodies from makeshift graves in various locations, including a boat shed, a beach, and woodland areas near Houston. Known as the "Candy Man" because his family owned a candy factory, and he often gave sweets to local children, Corll used this as a means to lure his victims. Most of the victims were teenagers, many of whom were from the Houston Heights area. They were typically enticed with offers of parties or a lift, then abducted, restrained, and subjected to horrific abuse before being murdered. The modus operandi of Corll and his accomplices involved horrific acts of torture, and many of the victims were strangled or shot. Elmer Wayne Henley and David Brooks were both arrested and convicted for their roles in the murders. Henley received multiple life sentences, while Brooks was sentenced to life imprisonment. |
