Dead Bodies From The Branch Davidian Compound in Waco Texas
The siege of the Branch Davidian compound, a religious sect led by David Koresh, in Waco, Texas, is one of the most infamous law enforcement standoffs in American history. The siege began on February 28, 1993, and lasted for 51 days, culminating in a deadly fire on April 19, 1993, that resulted in the deaths of 76 people, including David Koresh and 25 children. The confrontation started with a raid by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) on the compound, known as Mount Carmel, to execute a search warrant. The ATF had information that the Branch Davidians were stockpiling illegal weapons. The initial raid turned violent, leading to the deaths of four ATF agents and six Branch Davidians. Following this failed raid, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) took over the operation, leading to a standoff. Negotiations were conducted over the following weeks, with a small number of people being released from the compound. However, David Koresh and most of his followers refused to surrender. The standoff ended violently on April 19, 1993, when the FBI launched an assault to end the siege, using tear gas to try to force the Branch Davidians out of the compound. A fire broke out under controversial and debated circumstances, and the compound was engulfed in flames. The fire led to the deaths of those remaining inside, including Koresh. |

Yeah I remember when the military had that place surrounded. Some of the things the military did over the ammount of time they were surrounded over the impound waiting for Koresh to give up were hilarious. At like 2 or 3 in the morning they would play these barn yard animal noises and fireworks noises over these megaphones that you could hear over a mile away to try and get them restless. And i do believe they had these spot lights that they would randomly shine at the house at all times of the night. But it looks like Koresh won in the end.

Re: Dead Bodies From The Branch Davidian Compound in Waco Texas
There is no doubt David Koresh was a crazy person, but the the way Bill Clinton and Janet Reno had the ATF attack that compound filled with innocent children was a crime. The ATF under the rule of Janet Reno was to keep pushing Koresh. When they lobbed in over 300 canisters of tear gas that was it for Koresh and then Koresh burned the place to the ground. The women and children had no chance to escape, but at least Janet Reno got her man. Timothy McVeigh witnessed this attack and he even when he attacked the Oklahoma City Federal building and McVeigh knew he would kill children. It was called payback! |

It was not the military, but the FBI, ATF and local law enforcement. To this day, there is no direct proof as to who started the fire. Yes, the FBI was aggressive in their tactics at the end even though FBI negotiators were coming close to working out a peaceful solution with Koresh (at least to the point where Koresh was considering of releasing all the children). Timothy McVeigh was a walking time bomb. He used the Branch Davidians raid as an excuse to murder innocent, unsuspecting people. He didn’t give a shit about David Koresh. |

I think it is safe to assume the "teargas" started the fire. But c'mon... lets be real here. They killed 2 family members right off the bat. Sad story.

Re: Dead Bodies From The Branch Davidian Compound in Waco Texas
Difficult case and mistakes were made by ATF and FBI but those lives lost fall on David Koresh. This whole standoff lasted about 51 days. 51 days against 2 of the biggest government agencies in America. If children were not involved they would of just rolled over the compound after their loss of 4 men but obviously that much firepower would mean an absolute lose of life. The guy used those children as insurance policies. He killed them in the end like the sick, child molesting asshole like he was. Wasn't religious just a zealous conman under the guise of religion. |
