Shown are two trunks (middle trunk missing from photo). Trunk on left contained portions
of mutilated body of Miss Hedvig Samuelson. Trunk on right contained Mrs. Agnes Ann
Leroi's body intact, except for bullet wounds and terrible beating about the face.

A Los Angeles detective seen here searching through the trunks which not only contained
the bodies but clothing, papers, photographs, and bullet shells.


After discovering the horrific contents of the trunks, the Los Angeles Police Department
had the women's bodies removed from the train station.

Jury verdict in the Winnie Ruth Judd murder case. The jury finds her "guilty of the crime of murder
in the first degree, a felony, as alleged in the information, and fix the punishment at death."
Signed by Stewart Thompson, jury foreman. Filed with the Superior Court of Maricopa County,
Arizona on the 8th of February, 1932.


Shown is a nurse's kit with tools and a gun, police evidence against murderess Winnie Ruth Judd.

The hallway of LeRoi-Samuelson apartment. The scratch marks on the hardwood floor, shown
by arrows at each side, were made when the trunks carrying the bodies of Judd's two victims
were dragged through the corridor.

where Agnes LeRoi's body was found.

Winnie Ruth Judd, at far left, waves a clenched fist and clutches her hair at her sanity hearing
in Florence, Arizona, where she is scehduled to die on the prison gallows on Friday unless the
jury finds her insane. After her parents told of insanity running in their family, Judd broke out
into a wild outburst and was carried screaming from the courtroom.

Heirlooms, pictures, and letters belonging to the slain women and their murderer, Winnie Ruth Judd,
were found in the two trunks and suitcase. Judd had put the two bodies and their belongings into
these trunks, and attempted to ship them to California. Many of the articles were bloodstained.
