Crime Scene Pictures From The Black Dahlia Murder
The Black Dahlia murder, one of the most infamous unsolved cases in American history, involves the brutal death of Elizabeth Short, a young woman aspiring to be an actress in Hollywood. Short's mutilated body was discovered on January 15, 1947, in a vacant lot in the Leimert Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The case gained notoriety not only because of the gruesome nature of the crime but also due to the intense media coverage it received and the mystery that still surrounds it. Elizabeth Short, who was 22 at the time of her death, was nicknamed "The Black Dahlia" by the press, a name derived from a film noir released shortly before her death and her preference for black clothing. Her body was found severed at the waist, drained of blood, and posed in a grisly manner. The precision of the mutilation led investigators to believe the killer had surgical skills. The investigation into Short's murder was extensive, involving numerous law enforcement personnel and multiple suspects, but no one was ever charged. The lack of conclusive evidence and the sheer number of potential suspects made the case particularly challenging for investigators. Here are some images from the crime scenes.

Re: Crime Scene Pictures From The Black Dahlia Murder
So I love this movie and decided to search for some of the real pics. If you haven't seen the movie with Scarlett Johansson, Aaron Eckhart and Josh Hartnett, I would seriously recommend it.

Re: Crime Scene Pictures From The Black Dahlia Murder
"These images are of Elizabeth Short, better known as The Black Dahlia, arrested in 1943 for underage drinking in Santa Barbara. Born in Medford, MA, in 1924, Short spent her time after high school criss-crossing the country, eventually settling in Hollywood with predictably unrequited starlet-type aspirations. This aimless young lady came to national attention on 15 January 1947, after a stroller-pushing mother discovered her torn body in a vacant lot, torso cut in two and drained of its blood, a chunk of flesh taken from her leg and stuffed up her genitals, her hair freshly shampooed and still wet." Just lay there in such an obvious place |

Re: Crime Scene Pictures From The Black Dahlia Murder
This case has always fascinated me. Ive seen so many bios on it. They say that the torso killer may have done it. Who ever hacked her up, knew what they were doing bodily wise. |
