Crime Scene Photos From The Linda Sobek Murder
The murder of Linda Sobek, a case that dates back to November 1995 in Los Angeles. Linda Sobek, a former NFL cheerleader and aspiring model, was reported missing after she failed to return from a modeling assignment. Her disappearance sparked an extensive search and media coverage. Sobek's body was later discovered in a shallow grave in the Angeles National Forest. The autopsy revealed that she had been sexually assaulted and murdered. The investigation quickly led to Charles Rathbun, a freelance photographer who had hired Sobek for a photoshoot. Rathbun initially claimed that Sobek had died in a car accident during the photoshoot, but evidence contradicted his story. He was charged with her murder. The trial of Charles Rathbun was a high-profile event, drawing significant media attention due to the nature of the crime and Sobek's rising fame. Rathbun's defense hinged on the argument that Sobek's death was accidental, resulting from a car stunt gone wrong during the photoshoot. However, the prosecution presented overwhelming evidence, including forensic findings and inconsistencies in Rathbun's account, that pointed to deliberate murder. In a notable turn of events, Rathbun eventually confessed to intentionally killing Sobek. He was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. |

Re: Crime Scene Photos From The Linda Sobek Murder
I've read up on this case, but I haven't seen these particular pictures before. Good find. Well, I mean, not good for Ms Sobek. But fascinating nonetheless, in a tragic and morbid kind of way. |

Re: Crime Scene Photos From The Linda Sobek Murder
Yeah, I've come across quite a few rare photos that were shown in documentaries and what not. One was from the famous Menendez case. Where 2 Beverly Hills rich kids, Lyle and Erik Menendez. Decided they wanted to get rid of their parents so they could inherit their money. Which they did in brutal fashion, blasting their parents bodies with 12 gauge shotguns many times. Anyway, this documentary briefly showed the damage that was done to their bodies. One was a close up of their Mothers face after all the blood and what not was washed away, and it is horrific. To think that a Son could be capable of inflicting such brutality upon their own Mother is incredible. Another documentary that shows some rare photos is about Danny Greene. A Cleveland based Irish American gangster from the 1960's and 70's who took on the Italian Mafia with balls of steel. They made a movie about him a few years ago called "Kill The Irishman". He was blown up in a car bomb in 1977 and I was never able to find any photos of the scene except for a couple wide shots from far away. However, this documentary had tons of detailed photos of Danny's body at the scene and at the morgue. I'm going to see if I can find them again. If so, I'll post them here, or maybe in their own thread. |
