Mary Jane Kelly is widely believed to be the final victim of the notorious and unidentified serial killer known as Jack the Ripper, who terrorized the Whitechapel district of London in the late 19th century. Her death, which occurred on November 9, 1888, is considered one of the most gruesome of the Ripper murders. Mary Jane Kelly, also known by several aliases including "Marie Jeanette Kelly," "Ginger," and "Black Mary," was approximately 25 years old at the time of her death. Unlike the previous Ripper victims, who were killed outdoors, Kelly was murdered in the single room where she lived at 13 Miller's Court, off Dorset Street in Whitechapel. The brutality of Kelly's murder was extreme even by the standards of the Ripper killings. Her body was extensively mutilated, more so than the Ripper's other victims. The nature of her injuries indicated a deep level of violence and suggested that the killer had spent a considerable amount of time committing the murder. The murder of Mary Jane Kelly marked the end of the series of killings attributed to Jack the Ripper. Her death, like those of the other victims, remains officially unsolved. The identity of Jack the Ripper has been the subject of extensive speculation, investigation, and debate for over a century, with numerous theories but no conclusive evidence. This is a rare color photo of Mary Jane Kelly, believed to be Jack The Ripper's last victim.  · |

this was the worst mutilated of his victims, mostly because he knew he would not be disturbed. Body was found by the landlord looking through a broken window in the morning
