Re: Boy In The Box Death Pictures
I apologize as I am not sure if this should be in the Vintage thread, or here ... I went with my better judgement on this and here I am; If I'm wrong I am sorry. The "Boy in the Box" is the name given to an unidentified murder victim, approximately 4 to 6 years old, whose naked, battered body was found in a cardboard box in the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 25, 1957. He is also commonly called "America's Unknown Child. The boy's body, wrapped in a plaid blanket, was inside a cardboard box that once contained a baby's bassinet from J.C. Penney. The body was first found by a young man checking his muskrat traps. Fearing that the police would confiscate his traps, he did not report the matter. A few days later, a college student spotted a rabbit running into the underbrush. Knowing there were animal traps in the area, he stopped his car to investigate and discovered the body. He too was reluctant to have any contact with the police, but did report his find the following day. The case attracted massive media attention in Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley, with pictures of the boy even being placed in every gas bill in Philadelphia. However, despite the huge publicity at the time and sporadic re-interest throughout the years, the case remains unsolved to this day, and the boy's identity is still unknown. - Wikipidia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boy_in_...hiladelphia%29 |

Good find! I haven't seen anything on this story in quite some time. Sad he hasn't been identified after all this time.

I have never heard of this before! Very sad. Poor little baby he looked so handsome to. Kinda like my step son. Sweet little baby. Its mixed feelings when I see dead youth. A part of me is sad for them knowing they didn't get a chance and usually when here anyways their innocence has been brutally ripped from them; then the other half thinks good thing they're gone because the world is utter shit now and they don't deserve the brutality of life. I hope whoever did this got the karma owed to them. |

Re: Boy In The Box Death Pictures
Discussion thread about this kid There's a user that goes by Rutt in that thread ^ that believes that the boy in the box was related to some people that rented a house from his family. IMO it will never be solved... thinking he was a throw away child that wasn't all that cared about. Sad, yet thousands of kids are in the same boat across the nation. |

Re: Boy In The Box Death Pictures
I remember watching a film inspired by the case, Stolen (2009). Good film. Although not based on anything of the real incident, it brought my attention to the real boy in the box story which I hadn't heard of before.
