I wonder what it's like to be the people standing next to them, seeing their faces on TV and ran across the world and realizing they are just inches from the possible bombers. I wonder if that induces survivor's guilt with the "If I only knew...", "If I only paid attention...". Kind of a weird thought.

well if I were a bomber trying to pull something off at a MARATHON... I would dress as if I were partaking in the event myself. Blend in! That's what they look like to me... and the guy in blue carrying the athletic bag and not a an actual backpack, blends in more than his friend in the black shirt... who is missing his backpack in a few photos.

One of the problems with all the speculation about these people seen with backpacks on their backs -- and then on their arms -- is that when you walk through these Boyelston Street sidewalks on Marathon Monday, you have to take off your backpack and hold it. If you keep it on your back it keeps bumping into people and they get pissed off, and you also can't turn around. If you're trying to walk through there and someone's bumping into you with their backpack in your face, it's really aggravating. Basically you'll have it on as you walk along the sidewalk, but if you stop and try to get a view of the runners, you take it off and get as close as you can.

I don't think this has been added to this thread. Stabilized video from the explosions through the tearing down of the barricade. Watching it clearly, without all the shaking, really feels different. |
