In another photo taken shortly after this one, it appears that someone places a white object on top of the severed foot, as if to hide it from view... I also don't understand why it looks like the first responders just sort of ignore the guy and they seem to tend to other people's less serious wounds. In one photo a guy is just staring at him, while other people are obviously just standing there and making him the focus of most of their photos... It took a guy in a cowboy hat (without gloves, mind you) to have the common sense to tourniquet him and get him in a wheelchair. There is even a photo of the cowboy guy wheeling him, while a guy is lagging behind trying to get his gloves on to assist him. The cowboy's hands were covered in the other guy's blood. Sometimes seconds are the difference between life and death and if that guy truly did die on the operating table then all of those first responders who just stood by and watched him wither around in pain and agony while they just sort of looked around, tended to the people around him, or took photos of the poor bastard should probably feel guilty for not helping soon enough while assisting in his death. I know I would feel guilty after it was all said and done.

If that guy on the ground was my son or brother and I saw these first series of photos (obviously taken over a short period of time with nobody assisting him at all), I would be furious and would track down everyone who was pictured just standing by, so I could demand answers as to why they didn't apply pressure or tourniquet his wounds! Maybe that's just me, but this is the USA and I always roll my eyes when I see videos on this site of someone in a similar situation who is obviously dying on the street and everyone just either looks at that person or whips out their cell phones, not so they can call for help but to film that person's last breath and not to try and help them or at least comfort them or perform last rites, or at least something other than gawking... Then I think, well this is a third world country that this is taking place in and they are either not civilized to know better or maybe they're just uneducated and dumb when it comes to empathy for others in their time of need...

If I was dying on the street and everyone was just watching and taking photos of my dying breaths, I would feel like some sort of animal or side-show freak; who is less than human. I would think that in the USA, we would have more decency than a rotten third-world country whom I've come to expect that sort of behavior from... Not here.

Umm..the man in photo in the wheelchair with missing legs did not die. His name is Jeff Bauman and he is in stable condition and now breathing on his own. So trust that nobody is feeling guilty about "not helping him".

It may seem as if he was ignored in the photos and nobody knows for sure the time lapse between when they were taken and when he received help. But he DID receive it. You don't know what it was like during that mayhem and the chaos that was happening with injured bodies, dead bodies and body parts all around.. Trying to control a crime scene and thousands of people. I highly doubt you would track down everyone who was just "standing by" because NOBODY WAS JUST STANDING BY. The police, emts, firefighters, military, civilians, etc all jumped into action as soon as it happened. A second bomb went off and nobody knew if there would be a 3 or 4th, yet they still risked their own lives to help strangers.

I've seen many gore videos and pictures of people staring at ONE person who is dying or severely injured and they do NOTHING but snap pics or shoot video. This bombing had 175+ people hurt, dying and in need of help. Don't come off as if it was just a few people hurt and they were just being gawked at and not attended to.

I take great offense to your post, because you obviously have no clue about the city of Boston or it's people.

In this image it appears that Krystle Campbell might still be alive. I believe that she's the woman in the blue shirt just behind the fence. You can see that she's on her side with her head slightly raised and her arm around who I believe is her friend in the black shirt. The fact that her head appears to be raised seems to indicate that she is still conscious.
