Re: Boston Marathon Explosion Pictures & Video
Was listening to the scanner last night right before everything went down. It was first reported as a robbery by two suspects at a 7/11. Units responded and were given descriptions of the suspects by witness(es). Not long after a BPD officer gets on the scanner advising that shots were fired at the MIT campus and asked the all units in the area respond. At this point they didn't know the MIT officer had been shot, all they knew is that there were shots fired. Upon pulling up to the scene, BPD officers discovered that a MIT officer had been shot multiple times and it was reported that he was alive but in pretty bad shape. BPD also reported on scanner that the MIT officer's weapon had been taken, likely by the suspect that shot him. At this point, they were unsure if the shooting of the MIT officer was linked to the robbery that just took place at the 7/11..things then escalated from there.

Re: Boston Marathon Explosion Pictures & Video
6mins ago--- [sic] " Gforce - AIR3 inquiring about a report of a possible suspect in the woods near Blue Hills in Milton, MA. They report that they may be limited by weather. Will be trying to see how far they get. Will be coordinating on frequency H2. FYI, radio frequency hopping is a big problem for police helicopters. They need to talk to air traffic control, their own department, and local PDs. They have to juggle frequencies like crazy." |
