Re: Boston Marathon Explosion Pictures & Video
More on their personalities. They both also excelled in sports and were well liked. What a terrible damn mystery. Religion ruins all it touches, so it's my personal opinion that the older brother becoming increasingly more muslim is what sparked the fuse. http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/21/us/bos...html?hpt=hp_c2 Just in: The one in the hospital is now communicating in writing. http://www.cnn.com/?hpt=sitenav |

Re: Boston Marathon Explosion Pictures & Video
My take regarding the younger brother Dzokhar: When someone undergoes terrorist training (as most believe Tamelan did during his travels back to Russia last year which would explain the urging of Russia to look into Tamelan) the first thing they are taught is no matter what DO NOT BE TAKEN ALIVE, and this to me is very telling. The authorities did say that Dzokhar tried (unsuccessfully) to kill himself with a self inflicited gun shot through his mouth, but that was approx. 24 hours after he had been in serious pain bleeding out in the boat, and probably wanted to put himself out of his pain more than anything. But after the intial shootout with the Watertown PD he was willing to do ANYTHING to survive even running over his own brother, dragging him a half a block and ultimately killing him (according to police), whereas his brother knew it was over and deliberately charged the cops with a bomb strapped to his chest to go out in a blaze of glory. Dzokhar did not have a bomb strapped to his chest like his brother. What that tells me is that Dzokhar was obviously not indoctrinated or believed in the ‘cause’ to the point that he was willing give his life for whatever ever their cause was, furthermore, I am even willing to bet that Dzokhar did not know the backpack bomb he planted was going to do as much damage as it did (if any damage at all) and that Tamelan probably told him it was just some sort of incendiary device or a ‘dummy bomb’ to cause a major bomb scare. Once it went off I think that’s when Dzokhar finally realized the severity of what had happened. I could be way off here but it’s just a gut feeling I have. You might say that there is no way Dzokhar could not have known the bomb he was placing was a device meant to cause maximum casualities based on how heavy it was (if he actually thought it was gonna be detonated), but what we are hearing about how Dzokhar idolized his older brother and did whatever he said, I wouldn’t be surprised if Tamelan just gave him the back pack and told him “not to look inside and put it where I tell you, but don’t worry it isn’t actually a bomb that will go off”. Again, I don’t think Dzokhar, the guy who’s been described as a“happy go lucky, giggling, smiling kid” would’ve partaken in this if he knew this would result in actual death of innocent people. Another thing is how Tamelan gave his brother the riskier part of the mission that would require being a lot more exposed (while not encouraging Dzokhar to conceal his identity with shades or a hat worn frontwards to hide his face), and kept the easier part for himself, planting the first ‘distraction’ explosion in an obviously less exposed location and doing a very good job of concealing his own identity and avoiding cameras. This is where Tamelan’s training and know-how is very evident, as well as Dzokhar’s lack thereof. Also, I would think that if Dzokhar actually knew he was putting a bomb there that he knew was gonna kill people he would have FOR SURE covered up his face better than he did, or not gone along at all based on how hard he evaded capture, killing his brother in the process Bottom line, I think Tamelan completely manipulated and lied to his younger brother about what was going to take place that day, and after it happened there was no turning back for Dzokhar. Apparently he is communicating through writing with the authorities because he cannot speak due to his injuries, but I don’t think they will get much out of him because I’m sure Tamerlan was careful enough not reveal anything about the plan to Dzokhar until the last minute, or mentioned anything to him about who he met or what he did on his trip to Russia, and if there were other people involved. |

Re: Boston Marathon Explosion Pictures & Video
Tamerlan's wife "worked up to 80 hours a week as a home health aide while Tamerlan watched their daughter". He does come across as a manipulative, using SOB. He convinced her to drop her studies and work 80 hours a week whilst he sauntered around in his nice Mercedes, studying at college, boxing, making bombs etc. He had it made, at the expense of his wife and ultimately to his own detriment with his wacko religious beliefs. In 2009, Tamerlan said he doesn't drink or smoke anymore: "God said no alcohol." A muslim, he says: "There are no values anymore," and worries that "people can't control themselves."* Sounds like he had his fill, spent his youth as he pleased then decided to utilise the people around him to fulfill his twisted agenda. * Quotes taken from his boxing photo essay from Johannes Hirn. |

Re: Boston Marathon Explosion Pictures & Video
I'd easily believe your theory on Dzokhar had it not been for the things he put on his twitter following the bombing.... putting "Ain't no love in the heart of the city, stay safe people" and then retweeting a story about a bf crouched over his girlfriend and replied with "fake story" ... sorry but the boy as giggling as he may have been had no heart. He knew what was in that bag. The picture of him putting it right diagonal from where Martin was standing on the railing, and then him with a smirk on his face standing with his brother.... he was old enough to know what a pressure cooker full of nails and ball bearings would do. He may have been a follower of his brother or looked up to him because that's the father figure he had here, but he was a smart guy, he knew the consequences of his actions. They could have not reacted the was they did I mean that definitely isn't gonna make things easier when your picture is plastered on the internet. |

Re: Boston Marathon Explosion Pictures & Video
Tamerlan had not seen his daughter or wife in over a year. She lived in Rhode Island... whatever he went back to Russia for changed his views on America and everything, as he came back and she and the daughter got away from him. He was married to an American woman yet seemed to detest the life here?? And when Dzhojkar was on the run, he may not have known his brother was actually dead. In that state of panic, he may not have known if they took him or what. He clearly thought he wasnt gonna get caught or he would have shot himself sooner. I think he was scared not having his brother guiding him, but he was a smart guy and knew the damage they had done. |

The last story I posted stated "she last saw her husband at home on Thursday morning, hours before he and his younger brother allegedly executed a campus police officer, pulled off the carjacking". Where did you hear that they were separated? |

Re: Boston Marathon Explosion Pictures & Video
I'm trying to find those stories now. I had read it while the youngest was still on the run. I had recently read they spent almost every weekend at her parents house and she converted to Islam. I'm just trying to see where she had a home with him at because the place they searched showed no signs of him being a father. The stuff I remember reading was her mother responding saying she had been living with them and not seen him in a year. Not sure why there are no family pics of him with the 2 of them if they were really a close family.

Re: Boston Marathon Explosion Pictures & Video
Because it's SNAFU. I have a vague recollection of reading that they were separated, I think her Dad said it. The story is still in quite a state of flux, it may be a while before a clear consensus is reached on many of the details. |

Re: Boston Marathon Explosion Pictures & Video
I was listening to NPR Friday afternoon and they were discussing interviews with friends of his girlfriend/mother of his child. Apparently they were saying he used to hang out and party with them freshman year of college. Then he had converted to Islam and started insisting his girlfriend cover up with clothing. Their relationship became very volatile and they (her friends) became afraid for her.
