Though please save this particular thread... it has to be unique to DR and deserves being remembered.

that was a huge anti climax, dont get me wrong, im glad theyve managed to get him alive, but after 24 hours of listening, i was convinced he would be going out in a huge blaze of glory. Also we all know, if he does survive from his serious injuries, the police are extremely deluded if they think hes going to sit down with a nice cuppa coffee and tell them everything. Hes going to remain silent until he is sentenced or dies. But then again, i thought he would go down hardcore style so he might just break and blab all.

As if he was on a boat the whole time, surely, as they had checked every house / garage / car, you would think they would check a boat with plastic sheeting.

@Bexi - honestly I wasn't thinking he would go down in a 'blaze of glory'. His brother was the extremist who spent months back in Russia. His brother was the one with a Youtube page devoted to Terrorism songs. The younger brother's twitter, looking at the previous months, was devoted to soccor and having fun.

I truly believe he was manipulated and drawn into his older brother's extremist plot. When his brother was shot down, he took off and hid like the coward he is. He hid there for almost a day and eventually gave into police in an uneventful surrender. His brother wanted, apparently, the extremist 'glory'.

I was 'expecting' a bigger bang at the end, because of how everything had played out all week, and I'm sure if the roles had been reversed, it would have been much bigger. I mean, the photos of his arrest show that he wasn't even wearing the vest like his brother was.

Also - the reason they didn't 'find' him at first was because he started within their 20 block perimeter and stole a car. Then he hid in a backyard (they found pooled blood) for awhile. A little while later, he breached the perimeter (probably before it was fully in place), and he ran two blocks further and hid in the boat. Everyone was told to stay inside, so the home owner didn't notice the extended ladder and blood until after they told everyone they could leave their house. The police didn't even look on the block or in the boat, because it was *right* outside their 20 block perimeter.

really loved being here together with you all and dicussing latest events!

He is in serious condition but I think he'll make it. I agree with previous post re his older brother influencing him while the younger one was actually more into soccer etc. I believe if he was 100% convinced about his views it would have ended differently not in giving up. dont get me wrong, there is no symphaty left and I'd still love to see him skinned alive, but I think his older brother was probably the determining factor for this to happen.
