Bombing of Iranian Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon in 2013
On November 19, 2013, a double suicide bombing struck the Iranian Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of 23 people, including an Iranian cultural attaché, and injuring more than 160 others. The attack occurred in the Bir Hassan area of Beirut, a stronghold of the Shiite militant group Hezbollah, which has close ties with Iran. The bombings involved two attackers who detonated their explosives near the embassy compound. The first explosion was caused by a bomber riding a motorcycle, who detonated his device at the main gate of the embassy. The second, larger blast occurred minutes later, when a suicide bomber driving a car rigged with explosives struck the vicinity, causing extensive damage to the embassy and surrounding buildings. The Abdullah Azzam Brigades, an al-Qaeda-affiliated group, claimed responsibility for the bombings. The attack was seen as part of the wider sectarian conflict in the region, exacerbated by the Syrian Civil War. Iran, a predominantly Shiite country, has been a key supporter of the Syrian government, a stance that has drawn the ire of Sunni militant groups. |

Funny how we don't have suicide bombers here in the U.S. I think they come here and see how nice it is and decide they want to live.
