On August 2, 1980, a devastating bomb explosion at the Bologna Central Station claimed the lives of 85 people and injured over 200, marking one of the darkest moments in Italy's post-war history. The attack, which took place in the busy morning hours, caused a significant part of the station to collapse, creating chaos and destruction.

The bomb, containing 23 kilograms of explosives, was placed in a waiting room of the station, and the explosion occurred at 10:25 AM, at a time when the station was crowded with vacationers. The massive blast destroyed much of the main waiting room and the exterior of the building, leaving a scene of devastation.

Investigations into the bombing revealed the involvement of far-right terrorists, with connections to neo-fascist groups. The attack was part of a period known in Italy as the "Years of Lead," a time of widespread political terrorism from both the far-right and far-left. The motive was believed to be an attempt to destabilize the Italian government and create an environment of fear and uncertainty.

It's amazing how when stuff like this happens in any other country in the world people scream "inside job" often for no reasons, while despite THIS was proven to be an inside job, nobody in Italy cared about it.
It may happen only in Italy, that after TWO GENERALS of Military Intelligence and Security Service are proven to be involved with the conspiracy, nobody says a word. Only in Italy High treason is tolerated. In a civil country you CANNOT sentence to 8 years in prison a General who tried to derail the investigations against the bastards who did this: they where the ONLY able to find the truth. And betrayed the people they were supposed to protect.
This is beyond me.
In any other country of this world they would have been either sentenced to death or to prison life.

You're far more than right! Bologna, Ustica, all the trains carnages, bombs in Piazza Fontana and Piazza della Loggia... Hundreds of casualties and nobody was found guilty... They say it's secret. people that were involved in this is still covering high rank positions in the army or in politics... That is one of the reasons why I'm leaving Italy (And I guess You already left it... )
