He was far from a hero. His music wasn't even all that great without the Beatles. McCartney wrote " hey Jude" for Lennon's forgotten son Julian, during the time Lennon cheated on cynthia after years of emotionally and physically abusing her and deciding one day to abandon his family so he could go live the hippe smackhead life with his weird Yoko. He even cheated on Yoko eventually. He got off barely paying anything in child support for Julian, and wanted little at all to do with him. Most people wear rose tinted glasses when it comes to celebrities they love and choose to ignore how that person really is behind all the publicity, lights, and cameras. I hate most famous people, they're all narcissistic assholes to me.

If you look back at pictures of Mr. Lennon, his ears are always covered it seems. This is a serious ear deformity. He was shot in back/chest. Best I remember there were no reported head shots. Yikes!

Most of this is admitted either through Lennon's own writing or through Ono's own admissions (including her assertion Lennon was a "closet ***" who liked her because she looked like a boy in drag. He also was a right-winger (at least later in life) - a complete opposite of his commie style writing/public persona and the rumor comes in that he actually loathed Imagine in his last years.

While no one deserves murder in the purest form - he certainly doesn't deserve the revisionist angelic PR bullshit status either.

Most of this is total BS. The person who wrote this was a liar. Yoko wasn't beaten by John, if anything, he was p***y whipped. As for them doing heroin, they got clean before Yoko got pregnant. They were both on Methadone and as far as I know, she probably she is still on it. Heroin was gone from their lives since 1975

Always found it creepy that Yoko had a color photograph of John's blood-soaked glasses as the cover of one of her albums. Cool but creepy

That pic of his corpse laid out does seem to show his right ear as looking weird and deformed like an elf but in all pics of him I goggled showing his ears - including from his childhood - they look normal.
