Aztec High School Shooting Photos (William Atchison)
Via FOIA request I obtained a 600+ page photo album of crime scene photos of the Aztec High School shooting. A synopsis of the incident is as follows: William Atchison, a former student of Aztec High School in New Mexico, tragically became known for perpetrating a shooting at the school on December 7, 2017. This devastating event resulted in the loss of two students, Casey Jordan Marquez and Francisco Fernandez, and ended with Atchison taking his own life. Atchison, aged 21 at the time of the incident, had previously attended Aztec High School. Investigations revealed that he had meticulously planned the attack, disguising himself as a student to gain entry into the school. The incident prompted an immediate lockdown and a swift response from local law enforcement and emergency services. The community of Aztec was deeply shaken by this tragedy. The event sparked discussions about school safety, mental health, and gun control, resonating with similar concerns nationwide. In the aftermath, there was an outpouring of support for the victims’ families and the school community from across the country. In the wake of the shooting, authorities conducted a thorough investigation into Atchison's background and motives. It was uncovered that he had a history of posting troubling messages online and had previously caught the attention of the FBI in 2016. However, at that time, no charges were filed against him.   · |
