Allen Lee Davis Excution Photos
Allen Lee Davis was executed on July 8, 1999, by electrocution in Florida State Prison. His execution drew considerable media attention and controversy due to the circumstances surrounding it. Witnesses reported that Davis was still alive after the power to the electric chair, known as "Old Sparky," was switched off, and he suffered profuse bleeding from the nose during the procedure. Additionally, Davis sustained burns to his head, leg, and groin area. An investigation into the execution concluded that Davis had started bleeding before the first electric shock was administered, likely due to blood thinning medication he had been taking for an unrelated health issue. Despite the controversy, the Florida Supreme Court upheld electrocution as a means of capital punishment. However, the disturbing nature of Davis's execution led to it being the last execution by electric chair in Florida. All subsequent executions in the state have been carried out by lethal injection, although inmates still have the option to choose electrocution. The photographs drew attention from all over the world, with many foreign visitors expressing disgust, while many Floridians rallied in support of "Old Sparky," as the Florida electric chair is known. One Florida woman, in an email to the court, described the photographs as "wonderful."

Re: Allen Lee Davis Excution Photos
They do.....now, this picture was taken in 1999 when Ol' Sparky was still in use (the same chair that Ted Bundy was fried in). This execution and one other "blotched execution" were grounds for removal of the Electric Chair and made way for Leathal Injection, which is still in use today.
