Wingsuit Stuntman Successfully Flies Through Tiny Mountain Opening at 100mph
A 37-year-old daredevil has stared death in the face after flying 100mph through a small opening in a mountain range in China.
Jeb Corliss, whose jump was billed as the ‘flying dagger’, managed to complete the task even though the gap in Langshan mountain, in Zhejiang Province, was only 10ft at its narrowest point.
‘This is the greatest thing I’ve ever done up to this point. I am just so, so happy that we were able to do it,’ he said.
‘I was really worried that it wasn’t going to happen. I was sure it wasn’t going to happen. I’ve no idea. I just didn’t want to disappoint everyone.’
The American thanked his Chinese hosts and said he was pleased he hadn’t let them and his supporters down.
He added: ‘I am really glad I was able to do it. This was really, really, this was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.’
Mr Corliss dropped out of a helicopter before gliding towards the 900ft-high mountain pass.
The 37-year-old has previously jumped in Paris, Seattle and South Africa, where he broke his ankles and back.
