Mirror's Edge

A daredevil free-runner recorded these incredible point-of-view shots during his latest outrageous stunt.

Inspired by video game Mirror's Edge, Neil Cointet took to the rooftops of his native Cambridge, armed with a GoPro camera, a pair of running shoes and just one glove for grip.

He then proceeded to traverse the city's skyline - climbing vertically up walls, sprinting along ridges and leaping between the city's historic buildings.

And with the action taking place high above street-level, many passers by appear to go about their business unaware of what's unfolding above.

The vertigo-inducing results have since gone viral on the internet after the footage was posted online with nearly three million views in less than 10 days .

Neil said: "Being on the rooftops is like any other thing for me – it’s like walking on a pavement, but there’s less people and it’s more interesting."

He added: "Movement wise, this wasn’t particularly challenging to do. It was a lot of movement I knew I could do. I was really confident. I checked the runs before, and made sure everything was safe and plausible.

"If a moment is scary, that’s when you know you're trying to do jumps which are maybe beyond your limit.

"Fear can be dangerous because you can maybe not jump as well as you need to and you are not concentrating on the task in hand but the fear instead."

The short film, called Mirror's Edge, was shot over two weeks and has caused a stir online, with thousands watching.

Scott Bass, who produced the video and enlisted the help of free runner Neil, says he was inspired by a Parkour-themed point-of-view video game called Mirror's Edge.

He said: "It has had a pretty amazing response online. We released it on a Friday night and by the morning it had nearly received a million views. That is quite exceptional."

The duo now plan to create more thanks to the great reception the video has received.

Re: Mirror's Edge

Just give him lightning powers and it would be a POV sequel to Infamous.
