Re: Life is Awesome
Hiya Shakey Firstly I didn’t write that I thought you had to risk your life to have an awesome life. Kelly had some words as a heading to her original thread. The use of those positive words caught my eye.” Life is Awesome “ My statement was Enthusiasm, fitness, expertise and guts. Take my hat off to them. Some people certainly live life as a comment in recognition to Kelly’s, collection of photographs where people are experiencing different possibly high risk sports and activities. And at the very least are joyfully participating in activities for all to see. If I gave you the impression that the only way to have an awesome life is to place it on the line, then except my apologies, nothing could be further from the truth. I try to condense my words to a sentence a small comment and at times just the use of a yellow smiley face if you will. By shortening words, where your personality, smile or frown does not show, can lead to misunderstandings. It seems you felt dissatisfied with my 16 words and blue face smiley comment and that you required me to be answerable more than the other two people on this thread? If that was your intent then you do have that privilege, Or have I misunderstood? Did you just write a short comment and it wasn’t meant as a direct judgement call? The Long Version My thoughts are. rescue workers, police officers, fireman, military services people, Bomb demolitions experts, astronauts, etc can place themselves in the front line and have controlled trained adrenalin bursts that perhaps a clerk, salesperson ,dentist, whatever do not. That does not make the dentist or chimney sweeper any lesser of a person to an underwater welder or Alaskan Crab Fisherman any more of a person, but the experiences of life are different. A simple misjudgement or mistake within their field has a different consequence. Equally all of the above have an opportunity to aspire and gain awesome lives. Some people have incredible appetites for extreme sports, or sports that can lead to fatalities, injuries, instant adrenalin pulls, and immense pleasure. I mean extreme sports persons, Race car drivers, K2 climbers, TT racers at the Isle of Man; the list goes on and on. Most times the participants put aside their reservations of playing it safe and go out and test their abilities and live their lives for that one day........................ Doesn’t mean as human beings they are any different but it does mean their experiences are different. A simple misjudgement or mistake within their chosen sport or hobby has a different consequence. Once again equally all of them have the opportunity for an awesome life. I was not judging anyone only making a comment on a thread that I can and do recognise and applaud others in their accomplishments. Just like I see the degree of difficulty in knitting a jumper or a watchmaker at his trade or the cunning of a chess players winning move or the person with head phones enjoying their music so much that you get to hear them sing out of tune. I will equally applaud all. So I agree, you don’t have to risk your life to make it awesome. Life is what you make it and that’s why it’s awesome. Now if I was to choose fewer words to explain In this particular thread, where the majority of pictures are encapsulating experienced people taking calculated risks and testing their fitness and courageous to reach their personal goals. Short Version Enthusiasm, fitness, expertise and guts. Take my hat off to them. Some people certainly live life. |
