Re: DR's Official MMA Thread

Hey man have a good time and take some vids.
My phone died as soon as I got to town but the guy I went with got some good pics of it all. I'll post them tomorrow or the next day as he got a hotel room and stayed I came home.
What a fucking experience. I saw five fights and honestly can't really single out a memory..it's all a blur really but worth the money I think. I should have left earlier though as the undercard from what I am viewing were the best fights. Was a decent crowd too, usually I get into scraps in Calgary but everyone there was having a good time. First UFC event I've seen and I would definitely spend a grand to see another. Wouldn't pay less to sit any farther away either. That was perfect seating.

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread

I know he's undefeated in 25, has got power in both hands and keeps coming forward, but I'm not buying the hype on this guy. People are saying hes the guy to beat A. Silva ffs. Let him win a match in the ufc first.
This. It's safe to say that the level of fighters in the ufc is that much greater than anywhere else.

Yeah bud your usually right on with your prospects but Lombard was not really impressive...it seemed he wanted to wait for it to come...while Boestch picked him apart from a distance.

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread

The main event was a good, technical fight, (which I know you just bleed fans hate.) Faber ran into trouble mostly because he couldn't get the td but credit Barao for the great ttd. Barao afterwards was picking Faber apart with a more diverse attack.

Sorry for the shit fights homie.
The card was riddled with injuries. Most these guys had 2-3 week camps. But your right, as a fan I was a lil disappointed and I'm glad the Calgary crowd voiced their opinion at the end.

That was the only thing that kinda pissed me off.. I bought tickets to a waayyyyy better card than I ended up getting....I figured Kongo would be decent to see but he was lack luster...

Yeah, I'm good with the Faber/Barao fight. Barao's style and length make for a shit matchup for Faber. And the card was doomed from the jump, Aldo, Nog, Stann, Bisping all get hurt, not much you can about that.

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread

jesus! the guy is in major trouble

Badr Hari is facing a possible attempted manslaughter charge following an appearance in front of an Amsterdam magistrate today.

He is alleged to have taken part in an assault on a reveller at a rave in Amsterdam Arena earlier this month, before going on holiday with his girlfriend Estelle Gullit, estranged wife of the Dutch footballing icon Ruud Gullit.

Having returned from holiday this week Hari handed himself in to police Wednesday night and was arrested on doing so. He has been detained in custody since then and today his remand was extended by the magistrates, who gave police permission to hold him for two weeks.
this is a post from another site so I can't verify what is said

A Dutch paper today reported that yet ANOTHER victim has come forward and is perhaps also going to press charges. This time, it's about an incident from December of 2011 and the supposed victim is the brother of Hari's girlfriend at the time. It supposedly did happen in an Amsterdam bar BTW, so it's not some sort of domestic argument that went out of hand. The paper reported that the victim said that Hari hit him and headbutted him and he ended up with serious injuries to his face. He also said that, after the incident, he was intimidated and threatened by friends of Hari to keep him from pressing charges.
