Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
Hard to argue any of your points there RnR. Mike Tyson himself recently said in an interview that if mma/ufc was as big as it was 20 years ago he wouldn't be involved in boxing. Talks about the state of boxing. here it is. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/l9gmokDMwLo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
I will be the first to admit I allow emotion to cloud my judgement at times. When I don't rarely do I stand behind a statement that proves to be untrue...especially in combat sports. I don't for a minute think I helped promote MMA to the likes of Chuck, or Tito, or Silva, or the likes...but I HAVE promoted it. I have sat there and convinced parents of a child that came with a friend to my class and begged his parents to let him join..this was even when I was a HA and I would purposely not get dressed so that they never seen my clothes and formulate a opinion on the sport by the pre-conceived notion on what I was or a club I belonged too.....the only time when I belonged to that club I would do that...so I know I have given blood, sweat and tears to this sport...still do...and honestly believe I should have a voice.....not the biggest or even small voice but even though a fraction of a popcorn fart of one I should have one...and do I would believe....and in that anyone that threatens the integrity of a sport or it's different disciplines .....I come uncuntted....cause then me talking to little Johnny's parents for a hour and a half is all for naught and might as well have thrown on my colors back in the day after firing up a joint and swearing like a sailor.... One of the very few things I wanted it's integrity to be unharmed by me or my actions...and I truly think I succeeded in that...and in not knowing one of the few things I really hope. |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
Tyson was a bully that couldn't handle anyone who stood up to him, do they allow ear-biting in MMA?, disgraceful and should never be forgotten, it was an exit because he knew he wasn't going to win, coward. Over-hyped with hand-picked opponents, never fought Riddick Bowe and Ray Mercer would have kicked his ass. Yep, will always watch boxing, UFC 148 seemed lackluster. |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
Well that's the thing DU, Tyson should have fought Bowe, Mercer and prime Holyfield. The best fighters in boxing rarely fight each other. The sport is run by greedy promoters who only care about their wallets as opposed to boxing fans. You have been a boxing fan for a long time now and so you above all should know what a mess it has become.
