Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
Fucking Hendo gets knocked down by a shot that he would have eaten for breakfast in his prime. He had a great run in pride and probably the best fighter never to win a ufc championship but it's time to retire. http://gfycat.com/PitifulPossibleGos...ingedbutterfly |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
Those replays were rough to watch, that really sucks for Gus getting rolled-over and pounded in front of his entire country like that...but glad they let Johnson tee-off little longer rather than stop-it when there may have still been a chance for him to pull through. I expect them to do this during a main event - especially when the Main and Co-Main are both quick finishes. Rumble was in perfect form last night...however, The Mauler seemed to forget the 'dance that got him there' and stood in front of Anthony rather than use the footwork that bamboozled Jones for 5rds. Seems like the 'hometown hero' pressure got to him too. |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
So after rewatching the fight a few times, seems Rumble and the Blackzilians did their homework. They trained to counter that long and lazy front kick from Gus. So when Gus' cornerman yelled for it , Rumble was ready and countered perfectly. That was the beginning of the end for The Mauler. He just couldn't recover from that shot. Props to AJ for having the killer instinct. |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
Complete mismatch imo and here's why. This fight is not going on the ground. Both of these guys like to stand and bang so you can almost guarantee this fight stays standing. Having said that, Silva is the bigger and stronger man, so therefore he will dictate where the fight is going. Silva's strengths: In his prime, Anderson had the best striking of anyone in the history of MMA. He had quick and powerful hands, great and diverse kicks, an astounding clinch and possessed a granite chin. There was really nothing he was missing. Diaz strengths: Nick Diaz has some of the best boxing skills in MMA, and without a doubt the best cardio. That, plus extreme toughness allows him to often wear down opponents over time and take them out. In conclusion, if both of these fighters were still in their primes, I would simply note that this fight was likely to stay on their feet where a bigger and more diverse Silva would win. However, the fact that Silva is no longer in his prime and is coming back from the kind of injury many don't come back from has me wondering. This is going to be a one-sided beat down. I'll be surprised if Anderson Silva gets out of the 4th. Nick by TKO/KO. |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
I hope your right but I dissagree, I can not see it being a one sided beat down for anyone. Im really looking forward to the stand up in this fight but I see it going to the ground halfway through the second. I never make prediction but Im going for Diaz via triagle choke |
