Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
Big Foot looked lost without his testosterone therapy. He looks old and slow without it. Silva has always been a slow fighter, but without TRT he looked like a fighter who shouldn't be in the UFC. Arlovski is not a great heavyweight and he made Silva look like a complete novice. Silva couldn't land a single punch against Arlovski. If this is what Silva is going to look like without TRT, I don't expect him to have a place in the UFC for much longer. He’s going to have to change his fighting style because his striking is painfully slow. He'll have to rely on his underrated grappling and abnormal strength instead of his power. Of course, to get his opponents to the ground, he’ll have to get close to them, which will be difficult for non-steroid using Silva. |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
Very good point and I totally agree with you. Not having the juice has definitely not worked out to well for him and unfortunately im my opinion Arlovski has passed his prime a while ago. For some reason I still enjoy watching Andrei fight but I honestly dont see his run in the UFC going that far but I wish him the best of luck.

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
The more and more I watch Conor fight I keep thinking this dude is a damn stud! A bit mouthy but as far as I can see hes backed every bit of it up. I know Dustin will give him a good fight but at the end of the night I see Conor with his hand raised. Its a huge night for Eddie Alverez as well with his UFC debut and boy does he have a task in front of him with the Cowboy.

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
I'm not a fan of the lighter weight-classes, however I always liked Demetrious Johnson. There’s a very good argument that he’s the best pound for pound fighter on the planet right now. I think he’s at a point in his skill level and his career where very few guys can compete with him let alone beat him. It’s sort of like Roy Jones Jr. when he was in his prime. He's also the most active ufc champion by far. Another guy I respect is Dominic Cruz. Remember, Cruz was the original bantamweight champion and he never lost that title in a fight. He was stripped of that title because of a three year lay off due to a serious acl tear in this knee. It's going to be going to be interesting to see how the Champ is going to do this weekend. How he responds mentally and physically from a 3 year layoff from all the bullshit he had to go through in his prime. He's a guy that's gone from dominate champion to ranked number 12 without losing a fight. I think Cruz has seen more adversity than anyone else in mma. His comeback starts this weekend vs Takeya Mizugaki which is going to be a very tough fight for him. |
