Disclaimer - this is not a anti UFC post If the changes are as harsh as we expect (and there is no reson to believe otherwise) I think we will get a few more bans and a few more fighters pulling out of fights/retiring. It may affect the weight classes but within two years they really have a opportunity to clean up the company

IMO yes but I wouldnt gamble a lot on it. Mayweather is one of the best defensive fighters to ever live and he will have the ref and the judges on his side. Also expect some last min drama with the gloves from mayweather

I'd bet the house on Mayweather if I had to bet, Pacquiao has been stopped before but I hope he KO's the Beiber luvin' chocolate peanut.
Mayweather will most likely win by being a 'master boxer', counter punching and basically avoiding a fight.

As you can see from tonight's ufc main event there is nothing wrong with the unified mma rules. A fighters style is usually what makes for entertaining fights. MMA Unified Rules of Conduct allows the strikers as well as the grapplers equal opportunity to win a fight.

Could there be small changes to the rules to better the game? Judging imo is the biggest problem in mma right now. First thing I would do is eliminate the 10 point must scoring system. All rounds are not created equal. One could do everything short of maim a guy for two rounds, fight even for the other three, have clearly won a fight, and very justifiably under the scoring system have lost the decision. IMO we would be better off eliminating the 10 point must system and adding something that scores a fight as a whole as opposed to individual rounds.

As for adding 60 second standups, I think that's a ridiculous idea. The reality is a round is only five minutes and if a fighter with a good wrestling pedigree can get on top of you and rape you for 5 minutes - tough fucking shit!! You need to learn how to get off your back, you need to learn how to sweep, you need to learn how to counter, and you need to learn how to attack off your back.

As a fan of mma, I understand that not everyone is educated in the ground game. Rules shouldn't be changed because of ignorance. Fuck those people. Let them watch something else.

That explains why Ben Askren is the UFC champ...oh, wait.
