Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
That's a bold statement... and i'm a huge fan of Hendricks. I didn't disagree with anything other than the fight not being 5rds. True, but GSP has only been TKO'd once, and that was all the way back in 2007... the last time(and 2nd time in his entire career) that he has lost a fight. How different is Hendricks from Koscheck? I expect a similar fight. Johny is gonna go for a big left then takedowns, rinse/repeat. George has insane take-down defense for a someone without a background in wresting. I see Johny getting frustrated after a few stuffs and staying squared with GSP hoping to drop throw a starcher and eating a lot of jabs. Friend of mine is flying to Vegas for the fight and says his first stop once he gets off the plane is a stop to put a wad of cash on a Hendricks KO. Trust me, i'd love nothing more than to see a triumphant Johny Hendricks at the post fight presser with fat pinch of Copenhagen in his lip, a big smile, and a spit cup in front of him holding court... but it's far from a 'sure thing'. It's been a big year for toppling Champions, Bigg Rigg has written a large check with his mouth and i'm excited to see him bring it to Vegas and cash it. |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
Hey, if Hendricks gasses against Condit in two rounds, it just means he's going to gas after one round of trying to get off his back against GSP. |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
He may be over-hyped, but he's the logical next challenger to the '170lb Throne', at the end of the day he's got a punchers chance - and a better shot at actually beating GSP than Condit, IMO. Carlos can go the distance, but can't finish the champ. Hendricks has the power to drop GSP in one shot. |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
How is that bold statement? Hendricks is the better wrestler by far. He also possesses crazy ko power in both hands and is much quicker than gsp. You guys are acting like he received a gift title shot. That's so far from the truth. Hendricks has beaten everyone in his division. EVERYONE. The betting lines in Vegas are the closest there ever been in a gsp fight. Stop being weird and enjoy the fight... |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
It's a bold statement because George St. Pierre is George St. Pierre. I can't believe i'm having to defend the honor of a french-Canadian to a fellow Canadian fighting a good ol boy just 8hrs up the road from me. GSP is still widely regarded as the #2 P4P in the world. Don't get it twisted, i'll be hollering for Johny loud enough for them to hear it in Vegas on Nov. 16th. The rest of the card is strong too: Rashad Evans vs. Chael Sonnen Rory MacDonald vs. Robbie Lawler Josh Koscheck vs. Tyron Woodley Plus we get to see Anthony Pettis' little brother Sergio making his UFC debut... undefeated so far. |
