A large crowd turned up on Thursday at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Maryland to witness the stunt.
Standing on a railing on the 19th floor, daredevil Miles Dashier leapt into the atrium and spent about a second in free flight before deploying his parachute.
During his 14-second descent, he made a right turn to the centre of the hotel, crashed through a fountain and landed on his mark in front of a swarm of cameras and onlookers.
The event was held to promote the upcoming Red Bull flugtag season, which sees competitors attempt to fly home-made, human-powered flying machines off a pier.
The flugtag will be coming to the UK this the summer with an event in Leeds on July 17.
