Banzai Skydiving

This is a rumored form of skydiving in which the skydiver throws their parachute out the airplane door, waits, and then jumps after it.

To be successful, the skydiver must catch the parachute, secure it, and glide to the projected landing zone.

Re: Banzai Skydiving

Jesus Christ what a suspense thriller! Absolutely crazy. The dude is a Finnish stunt performer and judging by the landscape in the end, this video was probably also shoot in Finland during summer

Re: Banzai Skydiving

Thanks Bastet for the info. Crazy that he lost his life on land & not skydiving. Sad though really.

The accident which had no eyewitnesses, happened shortly after the start of the three-hour race, at approximately 13h00 o'clock on Sunday, 26 May 2019 afternoon.

The victim was a Finnish stuntman and motorcycle rider, Antti Pendikainen, born in 1990 who was part of the stuntman group called "Stunt Freaks Team".

Reportedly the rider lost control of his bike at fairly slow speed on a forest road located nearly Vesivehmaa Airport and hit against a tree.
slow speed and a tree and he's dead but survived the most craziest stunts.

Indeed. That is what makes his death so ironic.

Re: Banzai Skydiving

Some sections of cross-country courses have steep gnarly descents in woods. Racing mentality makes the riders reckless. Catch a tree at 25 mph and it is easy to die. I rode CC in mountains for many many years. Never saw the point of racing.

Re: Banzai Skydiving

What a dink. Cool stunt but he tossed over 2K worth of parachute rig. Pointless to do that if you weren’t going to use it. I hope it’s got a GPS inside. It won’t be easy to locate. I do understand this happened some time ago and that he’s no longer living. Cool stunt but a complete dolt.
