War.Com: Angela Maria Lungu's 2001 Naval War College PSYOP Paper
Maj. Angela Maria Lungu of the U.S. Army wrote "War.Com: The Internet and Psychological Operations" as a Joint Military Operations paper at the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. Dated February 5, 2001, the 17-page paper was approved for public release. A version also appeared in issue 28 of Joint Force Quarterly in 2001. Lungu argued that the Internet had become a powerful medium for influencing public opinion in both open and closed societies. She called for military psychological operations to expand their use of the Internet and for existing policy and legal restrictions to be revised to accommodate modern communications technology. The paper was a student work rather than a field manual or statement of military doctrine. The accompanying U.S. Army Psychological Operations branch insignia depicts a gold knight, lightning bolts and crossed swords on a green background. ![]()

Re: War.Com: Angela Maria Lungu's 2001 Naval War College PSYOP Paper
That's my MOS, It's actually funny how it talks about using internet as a medium, but with the current focus of PSYOP it is a completely ineffective means of producing a message...Countries within the current theater of operation do not have access to that medium, and is basically rendered ineffective...But it would be cool to post PSYOP messages on the internet, but then again maybe I am PSYOPing you with this
