STS-80 Unidentified Object Images, 1996
These are three NASA images from STS-80, taken between November 19 and December 7, 1996, by astronauts aboard Space Shuttle Columbia. The series shows an unidentified object in low-Earth orbit. In the first photograph, the object is near the center of the frame, to the right of the limb of the Earth. In the second, it is again near the center of the frame and appears to have rotated or tumbled about its major axis, consistent with a free-floating object. In the third, it is superimposed against the Earth and appears to have continued on a trajectory passing between Columbia and the Earth. Declassified by the Department of War under the PURSUE UAP records release (tranche of 7/10/26). Agency: NASA Incident: 1996, Low-Earth Orbit Document ID: NASA-UAP-D030-set
