State Department Cable on Kazakhstan UAP Encounter, 1994
This PDF is a Department of State diplomatic cable sent from the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, to the Secretary of State in Washington, D.C., on January 31, 1994. It reports that on January 27, 1994, one Tajik pilot and three American citizens encountered a UAP while flying a 747 at 41,000 feet over Kazakhstan. The object was described as a bright light of enormous intensity that approached from over the eastern horizon at great speed and at a much higher altitude. The cable says several pictures were taken as the craft made 90 degree turns, corkscrews, and circles at great speed, and that it resembled "a bullet in flight"; the contrails were visually estimated at 100,000 feet, too high for ordinary aircraft to leave contrails. Declassified by the Department of War under the PURSUE UAP records release (tranche of 5/8/26). Agency: Department of State Incident: 1/27/94, Kazakhstan Document ID: dos-uap-d2-cable-2-kazakhstan-january-1994
