Pentagon Papers Part IV.B.5, Ngo Dinh Diem, 1963
This is Part IV. B. 5. of the Pentagon Papers, officially titled "Report of the Office of the Secretary of Defense Vietnam Task Force." Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara commissioned the report in 1967. This volume is "Evolution of the War. Counterinsurgency: The Overthrow of Ngo Dinh Diem, May-Nov. 1963" and is presented as a PDF. The National Archives released the complete report on the 40th anniversary of the 1971 press leak, together with the Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon Presidential Libraries; the release totals 48 boxes and about 7,000 declassified pages, with about 34% available for the first time.
