This footage, submitted by the FBI, was captured by a private citizen on an iPhone in the northeastern United States in October 2024, at approximately 1851 local time. According to statements provided to the FBI, the eyewitness saw a light source below the horizon, hovering above a pond at an estimated distance of 2,700 feet.

The source describes a luminous object resembling a "plasma-like sphere" that intermittently changed shape and luminosity, with smaller luminous points appearing at times. A luminous point below the primary source hovered just above the water and did not appear consistent with a surface reflection, and the eyewitness reported no sound. The U.S. Government analyzed and authenticated the video, and the footage was cropped to protect privacy with no other edits, enhancements, or alterations to the visual content.
