Thanks for all the info and videos, deanmine , but I can't stomach watching them. I can handle gore, but the pain they put those women through is just too much. It makes me sick to even think about it. Knowing those monsters are locked up isn't enough. They will never know the suffering they forced on their victims.

I remember hearing about this in 1988; when i was 8yrs old, from the two oldest of three brothers that moved-in across the street from me.
They referred to them as the 'Hillside Stranglers', i remember it taking place in California and the guys working as a pair - the story got a bit overblown in the retelling. I remember them saying the guys, 'cut the girls tits and pussys off!', but reading the real account of something that was told to me as a child(by other children) is giving me flashbacks. Truly sadistic.
Not sure where they heard about it, one was my age, the other younger.

Did they make a TV movie about it?

They would've been too young to read about it in the paper - maybe the trial?

Sounds like your neighbor mixed these two up with the Chicago Rippers, who did cut their victims breasts off- and a whole host of other disturbing mutilation rituals (think Dhamer and Richard Ramirez combined) that make Bittaker look like a gentleman in comparison. Yuck
