This 1958 FBI memorandum records information supplied by author and UFO researcher Ivan Sanderson and editor Hans Stefan Santesson to the Newark Field Office. Sanderson and Santesson alleged that the New York Saucer Information Bureau had shifted from UFO discussion toward anti-nuclear, anti-secrecy, and anti-government political appeals, and they suspected it could be a Communist front. The memorandum identifies organizers and speakers, summarizes claims about the group's meetings and foreign contacts, and notes publications and letters provided to the FBI. Newark sent the information to FBI Headquarters and several field offices for information only and stated that it contemplated no further action.
