FBI File on the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921

This file concerns the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, also referred to in the records as the Tulsa riots. The FBI stated that it conducted an investigation immediately after the violence occurred. The released material includes an August 18, 1924 reply to G. F. Stradford in Chicago concerning allegations that machine guns and airplanes from Fort Sill or another government reservation were used during the violence. The Acting Director wrote that FBI reports did not support those allegations. Five additional pages from FBI headquarters file 62-HQ-92441 were withheld or referred for direct response.
