FBI File on the Saugus High School Shooting

This FBI file concerns the November 14, 2019 shooting at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, California, carried out by Nathaniel Tennosuke Berhow. The Los Angeles Field Office opened the matter to assist the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which was the primary investigating agency. Released records include the opening communication, subscriber-information imports, an interview concerning a pre-shooting group text about a possible Southern California school threat, and a heavily redacted record of investigative activity. An April 2020 closing communication states that Berhow shot five students, two of whom died, then killed himself; it says LASD requested no further FBI assistance, no FBI evidence was retained, and no leads remained open.
