This FBI file concerns purported 'Majestic 12' documents alleging a secret government group dealing with extraterrestrial craft and recoveries. Dallas forwarded a copy received in 1988 and asked whether it was classified after local publicity and radio discussion of the alleged operation. FBI Headquarters advised that the document was bogus and that the case should be closed. A 1991 Salt Lake City matter records another copy of the supposed November 18, 1952 briefing document found in the field office lobby, FBI contact with Air Force Office of Special Investigations, and discussion of whether any Defense Department interest or classification issue existed.
