FBI File on the Kidnapping of Sidney J. Reso

This FBI Newark file concerns the 1992 kidnapping of Exxon executive Sidney J. Reso in New Jersey. The Bureau opened major-case subfiles for leads including dog-license information and the ransom package. Released records include evidence-control forms, laboratory acknowledgments, interview notes, photographs of ten Eddie Bauer bags containing $18.5 million in $100 bills, and a log for a pay-telephone receiver. June 1992 field communications direct background checks, employment-record reviews, military-record requests, and contacts with Exxon and Pinkerton Guards regarding a person whose possible involvement had not been cleared.
