FBI File on John Joseph Gotti Jr.
This file combines early Selective Service Act inquiries concerning John Joseph Gotti Jr. with later New York FBI RICO records connected to investigations of the Gambino crime family. The 1964 to 1965 reports document efforts to locate Gotti after Local Board 47 reported that he failed to report for induction in November 1963, including checks of family contacts, employment, welfare, hospital, credit, and police records. The later records from 1990 to 1992 concern the FBI's RICO investigation, court-authorized electronic surveillance, administrative support for the prosecution, and communications with federal prosecutors. A 1992 laboratory report compares bullets, cartridge cases, and a metal fragment recovered in the 1988 homicide of Francesco Oliveri with previously submitted firearm evidence and reports no indicated match.
