This PDF contains correspondence between FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover and Rev. Charles Barnes about Barnes' account of an incident potentially involving UAP in 1949. Barnes described seeing four beams of light "converging in the Cascade Mountains" at about 10,000 feet, with a "great explosion" visible at the convergence point for at least ten minutes.

Hoover replied to Barnes thanking him for the letter and said he had forwarded it to the Atomic Energy Commission. Hoover told the AEC that Barnes believed the event might relate to a military or scientific experiment within the commission's purview.
