Analysis of 2022 Colorado Springs UAP Incident

The file is a redacted PDF containing analysis by an AARO Intelligence Community partner of a 2022 airborne-object incident near Colorado Springs, Colorado. U.S. military service members reported the incident to AARO in 2023.

Observers described the reported phenomenon as resembling an "angular, non-symmetrical potato." The IC partner assessed, with low confidence, that it was attributable to sunlight backscattering, where sunlight reflecting from mountain snow cover illuminated the underside of low-altitude clouds. AARO still considered the incident unresolved as of June 2026.

Declassified by the Department of War under the PURSUE UAP records release (tranche of 6/12/26).
